Over the last several decades, the amount of toxins introduced into our environment has increased exponentially. From the food we eat to the everyday products we purchase for our homes, toxins play a role in our health that most of us are unaware of. This course explains the science behind the effect toxins have on our health and provides practical tools on how to manage toxins we can't avoid, find alternatives for those we can, and repair your body from the toxin loads we have accumulated in our system.
Session 1 - Introduction Part 1: In this session you will learn about toxins and why we all need to be concerned. You will learn about main sources of toxins, how we get exposed to these toxins, and the best ways to avoid them. This session runs for 35 minutes.
Session 2 - Introduction Part 2: You will learn about toxins in plastics, water, dental toxicities and more. You will also learn the basics on how to detox. This session runs for 68 minutes.
Session 3 - Food: You will learn about how toxins affect our mitochondria, the energy producing part of our cells. You will also learn about oxidative stress and the mitochondria. We will explore how toxins affect weight and how toxins make it difficult to lose weight, and how this contributes to yo-yo weight gain/loss. Intermittent fasting will also be briefly discussed as well and various metals and associated toxicities. This session runs for 53 minutes.
Session 4 - Kitchen & Laundry: This session focuses on toxins found in the kitchen and laundry room. Non-toxic options will be discussed. We will also look at the toxicity of most cleaners and will have recommended non-toxic products. This session runs for 58 minutes.
Session 5- The Bathroom: This session focuses on toxins found in most bathrooms. This will include make-up and hair products, and show you ways to navigate sources to find non-toxic brands. This session runs for 35 minutes.
Session 6 - Water: This session will focus on water - and how to make sure your drinking water and water you use are safe. We will also briefly discuss mold and mold toxins. We will introduce health issues associated with mold and how to look into this further. We will discuss air quality and how to improve this in your environment. Lastly, we will look at EMF and how to decrease the effects of this in your home. This session is scheduled to be released on June 1, 2020.
Session 7 - Everything Else!: This session will focus on other indoor toxins not previously covered. Topics will include: How to decrease bringing toxins in the home (shoes, clothing, etc..), bedroom toxins (mattresses, pajamas, pillows, and more), clothing and shoe choices, furniture and house products, and more. This session is scheduled to be released on July 1, 2020.
Session 8 - The "Great" Outdoors: This session will cover outside toxins around your home. We will look at sprays used, pesticides, lawn care, hoses, and more. We will discuss options to try to decrease outdoor toxins that are out of your control. Finally we will discuss various hobbies and chemicals that you may be exposed to - chlorine, art products, etc. This session is scheduled to be released on August 1, 2020.
Session 9 - Pregnancy: This session will cover pregnancy and toxins. It will also cover baby products and how to raise a family in a toxic world. This is important for parents and grandparents! This session is scheduled to be released on September 1, 2020.
