We will be discussing preparation and planning for traveling, eating out.
Here are a few tips to help you prepare:
Have an emergency food kit:
Meat sticks, hard boiled eggs, trail mix, other healthy snacks with you for in the car when running a lot of errands, traveling and even for visiting others.
Pre-eat before going places where there will be food.
Then grab just the healthier options available
Limits the amount of unhealthy food you may be tempted to eat if you are not hungry
Bring your own treats or food to gatherings
Try recipes ahead of time
Decide how many treats during the holiday you will allow yourself before the holidays come. (weekly, bi-weekly, etc..). Try to stick to this.
Consider the treats that mean the most to you - taste, sentimental, etc. and factor those in.
When you decide to allow yourself a treat, Enjoy it!! No guilt allowed. It does not need to derail you from your health journey and any food plan you are following.
Note: if video playback is jerky, it likely means the video is buffering and waiting for your internet to catch up. If this happens, just hit the download icon (down arrow in lower right hand corner of video) and watch once it downloads. You can also tap the double arrow icon to put the video in full screen mode.
