Welcome to Day 17!
Today we will discuss the importance of community and healthy relationships.
Community
  • As humans, we inherently value interaction and community.
  • We thrive with connections (even introverts:))
  • Yet we have become more and more disconnected with technology (and COVID).
  • Community has been shown to be a part of full and abundant health.
  • Ancestors were in communities of around 150 people
  • Vagus nerve dysfunction can make us more introverted and avoid the social connections we need to thrive.
Questions to reflect on:
  • What communities are you part of?
    • Church family, clubs or organizations, work, family, friend group, etc..
  • What do those communities bring to your life?
    • Joy, peace, happiness, growth, insecurity, jealousy?
  • Is each community more positive or negative in the feeling it brings to you?
    • Should you continue with that group of people?
  • Is each community growth minded and helps to build you up, push you to become a better person -- or does it bring you down?
If you find as you reflect that you have more negative thoughts with your communities, or have not formed communities (due to circumstances in your life) - consider where you can find positive, growth minded, communities that encourage and push you to be the best version of yourself.

Find balance with your communities - one that allows you to be who you are.

Find the communities that help you Flourish and grow!

Healthy relationships
  • Healthy relationships are shown to decrease all cause mortality and improve many health parameters.
  • Healthy relationships are recommended for us all
    • Number of relationships and finding balance is unique to each person
  • Not having healthy relationships has been shown to increase mortality
    • So seeking out a few key relationships is important to your health
Toxic Relationships
  • Toxic relationships can be devastating to your health
  • Seek help within the relationship and if it is still toxic and negative to you and your health - set boundaries or get out if able
  • Seek help for past toxic relationships that may have left behind marks of trauma
    • CBD, EMDR, Brain spotting are a few therapies that may help

Challenge:  Evaluate your relationships and commit to fostering positive relationships, setting boundaries on unhealthy relationships.
