Today we will discuss how our ecosystem or terrain (meaning the underlying health and balance in our cells and body) interacts with the environment and creates health or disease.
Genes load the gun - but environment pulls the trigger.
We are all born with our set of genes - but various environmental triggers turn genes on and off. So we do have control over how our genes impact out health
We need to match our inputs (food, movement, and other factors) with what our DNA expects. Our current SAD (Standard American Diet) and SAL (standard American lifestyle) often put us at odds with our genetics - creating imbalance and disease.
We have biosensors in our body - which sense this imbalance and give us symptoms. These symptoms are telling us we need to make adjustments in what we are doing. Are we listening?
This can mean hard decisions and changes - and often veering away from the Standard American anything. We will discuss what this looks like and try to give some motivation and tips on navigating this throughout your life through the rest of the 30 days.
But remember, there is power in our choices - to live in line with your DNA. There will be ups and downs - but overall progression and learning to live the way your body wants and needs is a lifelong journey that will support your health and ability to Flourish.
