Member Gathering tonight at 7pm. This is an opportunity to visit and ask questions of myself or other members. Participation in member gatherings is included in your membership but you do need to register to receive the link.
Lab Draw: Lab draw February 18th starting at 8:30am. Please use the lab draw scheduler to let me know if you want labs drawn on the 18th.
Group Visits: Group visits will be recorded and all those registered will have the 10 minutes deducted from their time banks. If you are not able to make the meeting live - please email Ron and request the recording and you will be sent a link for that meeting.
Pharmacy requests: When I call in a prescription, I generally leave the information on the pharmacy voicemail. If you go to the pharmacy and they state they don't have the prescription, please ask them to check their voicemail. We have had this issue many times where a member has been told the script is not there when it is sitting on the pharmacies voicemail, which results in the patient leaving the pharmacy unnecessarily without their script.
In addition, if we are sending a prescription to your pharmacy and a prior authorization is required, we have a few options.
Ivermectin: Some insurances will cover them without prior authorizations. If a prior auth is required, it most likely will not be approved as I have to say it is being used for COVID and that is not a covered reason for most insurances. In this case, the best option is goodrx pricing or the Apothecary.

Ron here- (Stacey's husband)
Last fall, one of our members brought Zion Healthshare to my attention. I was told Zion had a reduced monthly share (premium) plan for patients who were members of a Direct Primary Care (DPC) clinic. While Flourish is not technically a DPC, I called them and spoke with their executive director who confirmed the benefits of a Flourish Membership exceeded their criteria to meet their DPC discount.
Here are the main points to know about Zion:
Zion Direct Membership Pricing
Zion Essential Membership Pricing
Feel free to call me with any questions! 320-424-0771
Ron here- GREAT NEWS on the Healthshare front. Healthshares are increasingly recognizing the value of practices like Flourish to lower overall cost of healthcare and are making it easier for members to offset their costs.
We recently welcomed a new member to Flourish whose healthshare (Zion) is covering most of the cost of his Flourish Membership. In the case of Zion Healthshare, Flourish is considered a "DPC Practice" or Direct Primary Care practice. In other words, Zion is acknowledging that, as a Flourish Member, you get a bank of time and support over the course of the year so visits that would otherwise be submitted to the healthshare individually are covered by your Flourish Membership. Just like you and me, the healthshares would also prefer not to deal with the paperwork of individual needs/share requests. (it consumes significant human resources and adds no value to your health!)
The Zion model provides two options for monthly membership: Standard or "DPC Paired". The DPC Paired option offers a lower monthly healthshare cost as long as you are "paired" with a qualified DPC practice, which Flourish is.
I have calls and/or emails into all the major healthshares to research similar programs and have connected with a couple so far- both of which have programs similar in concept.
If you are currently a member of a healthshare or are in open enrollment and are considering moving to a healthshare and want to discuss options, please pick an available time from my calendar below or call me directly at 320-424-0771.
Also, if you have friends or family members who you know would benefit from Stacey's skillset and the Flourish approach feel free to forward this email to them as this recent development might open the door for some people that otherwise would not have been able to pursue becoming a Flourish member.
We are soon entering the Holiday Season and so I wanted to share a few things with you.
Holiday 30-Day Health Challenge. I am rolling out a video series starting today that is similar to the one I did last spring, but I will be covering some different topics and many related to the holiday season. The Spring Challenge was a fun series and a good way to connect a little. I will cover many topics and condense them into little bite size versions with a daily challenge. I invite you all to sign up to receive these daily videos. You can also share this with anyone you would like. It is a great way to spread the messages of health as we head into a generally stressful time of year (and compound that with COVID).
Also on the health challenge page accessible through the link above is a Holiday Survival Guide with some helpful tips that I hope you will enjoy to maintain your sanity as we close out 2020!
Virtual Visits: During this COVID surge that will likely only increase as we approach the holidays, we are transitioning to mostly phone or virtual visits. If you have an issue that absolutely requires an in-person visit, we will take precautions and try to make it work.
Updated Food Page on the Member Site: Check out the updated food page. There are many resources on there - including the video on the Microbiome Mash-up. Please check that out and I encourage you all to start doing the mash-up daily to help gut and immune health.
Brain Spotting: I have talked with many of you regarding brain spotting in the past. This is an eye movement therapy to help with a history of trauma. It has actually been found useful in most everyone, as we all have been exposed to various trauma's in our lives. If you are having trouble with heightened nervous system symptoms (palpitations, high heart rate, dizziness, depression, anxiety and more) or a history of trauma, I highly recommend checking into this therapy. I recently found a practitioner that does this locally both in person and zoom. Her contact information is: Alison Rusk. 320-429-8554. www.healwholehealth.net
We will be offering a free zoom call on Thursday December 3rd at 5:30pm where Alison will be available to tell us more about brain spotting and answer any questions you may have.
Register for the Brain Spotting on the EVENTS CALENDAR
Virtual Member Gathering: I will be hosting another virtual gathering of members November 30 at 7:00 PM to answer questions and concerns common to all members. I will also be able to address questions related to the surge in COVID cases and can discuss what we are able to provide to members and their families. These gatherings are included in your membership and do not reduce your time bank.
Virtual Member Gathering Registration on the EVENTS CALENDAR
As mentioned in the last member update, I am starting to host more virtual group visits.
For members who are new to the group visit concept:
Group visits are an excellent way to "stretch" your Time Bank as we address specific questions you have, and most questions will be applicable to everyone on the call. Group Visits vary in length depending on the number of members attending and generally last an hour or longer if 5 or more members are in the meeting. (Less if only 1 or 2 members are in the meeting) Your Time Bank will be reduced by 10 minutes when attending group visits.
The upcoming group visits are:
CIRS Group Visit - Wednesday December 2nd 5:30pm
Neuroinflammation Group Visit - Wednesday December 9th 5:30pm
Autoimmune Group Visit - Wednesday December 16th 5:30pm
You can register for these events on the EVENTS CALENDAR
Events Calendar Has Been Added to the Member Site!
You can register for the events mentioned in this email by using the above links or by visiting our new Event Calendar. Going forward, all Flourish events will be posted to the calendar.
Lab Draw Date: If anyone needs updated labs, our next lab draw date is November 30 starting at 5:00 PM. You can use the link below to get your name on the schedule for labs. Once you submit your request, we will get back to you with a specific time. Please let us know if the time we provide does not work for you and we will do our best to figure something out. We space lab draws 10 minutes apart to keep wait time minimal or non-existent.
To maintain social distancing, please remain in your vehicle when you arrive for your lab draw. One of us will come out to let you know when it is your turn.
Available Lab Draw dates will be added to the Events Calendar as they become available.
Whew! Another long member update! Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to working with you to stay healthy and enjoy this blessed time of year!
Happy November and I hope you were able to enjoy the beautiful weather this past week.
Just an update on a few items:
If you have been looking for NAC (which is on the COVID prevention and treatment protocols) there is a great new product you can check out and it is in stock. It is Glutathione Recyclerby Apex. It helps increase your own glutathione, and contains both NAC and ALA as well as milk thistle and selenium so it is a great product with more benefit than NAC alone. If you put in a "notify when back in stock" request on the store for NAC, feel free to use this instead (or we do have plain NAC also coming back in stock soon).
The Neuroinflammation (brain inflammation) course is LIVE!!
Just as with the autoimmune course, I recommend that all patients watch this course. It is especially relevant in today's world with increasing rates of brain diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well as depression and anxiety. A few of the common symptoms of brain inflammation include brain fog and brain fatigue, which many people have - so I highly encourage you to take advantage of this course! Once you have watched the course and filled out the brain localization form, feel free to make a follow-up appointment so we can personalize the course to you. Many of you likely have a combination of Autoimmune and Neuroinflammation, and some also have CIRS. So we need to combine the recommendations from all those that affect you and come up with a personalized plan.
The Food Page is also LIVE on the Member Site
There are many resources available, different food plans, and more. This is also where the video on microbiome mash-up is. Please watch this also. It is short but goes into detail about the mash-up - which I recommend for everyone!
Scheduling Appointments is Getting Easier!
There is now an appointment scheduler on the member site to schedule 30-minute follow-up visits. While I block my time in 30-minute segments, we will only apply the amount of time we actually use toward your time bank. Please note that I have carved out specific blocks of time each day for follow-up visits, but have left other parts of my day open. This allows flexibility to address urgent needs of members, respond to written questions, and continue taking courses. If none of the available times on the online calendar work for you, please use the appointment request form on that page to request an appointment time that works best for you.
Lastly, please keep in mind over the next few months that larger gatherings over the holidays and the start of influenza season pose additional risk. If you have been in unmasked gatherings, or have any symptoms, we will need to use Zoom or phone for appointments. I will also try to get more group Zoom meetings scheduled over these months so everyone can stay on track, ask questions, and have some group support!
Blessings to you all!
Stacey and family
Ron here. The Online Supplement Store is UP AND RUNNING! We are very excited to have this project completed because we know it has been inconvenient to have to call, email or text to find out what we might have in stock and/or send pictures of what you want to confirm we are sending out the right version of supplement. (For example, Stacey stocks 7 variations of magnesium) This new system should save everyone a lot of time, improve accuracy, and speed up the order fulfillment process.
ENTER ONLINE STORE HERE
281 Products from 54 Different Manufacturers!
This wide variety of supplements is the result of Stacey spending countless hours on research to bring Flourish Members a selection of the highest quality products on the market. Since Flourish does not profit from supplements, this selection is not influenced by such profit motives as purchasing exclusively from one supplier to boost profit margins, etc. The result, however, of managing this kind of inventory from so many distributers, does pose a logistical challenge. That's where the online store comes in! Here are few benefits of going online for supplement orders:
Benefits of the Online Store:
More efficient communications: No more emailing, texting, or phone calls necessary to place or follow-up on your orders.
Accurate Inventory Count: Every supplement in the store will have an accurate inventory count so no more having to ask whether the supplements you want are in stock.
See what you are getting ahead of time: Every supplement has an image associated with it so you can have visual confirmation you are getting what you want; which is especially beneficial for when you are reordering something.
Better communication of order status: When you place your order, if you provide your email address and mobile number, you can choose to receive email and/or text notifications:
VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
We hope you enjoy the benefits of having online access to order your supplements! If you have questions about which supplements you should be taking or how to take them, that is an indication that you are probably due to schedule a zoom visit with Stacey to discuss what you are taking to make sure you are on track with the right mix of supplements.
Happy Fall to All!
I just wanted to share a COVID handout I created (located on COVID page) that provides a clear prevention and treatment protocol. The following link to the member site brings you to the COVID page and includes a video I just produced that expands on the handout. We have seen an increase in COVID in this area and I know some of you are affected - so I wanted to get this out right away.
If you have had any exposure to COVID, we will want to keep your visit by phone or zoom, or reschedule until you have had no exposures for at least a few weeks. I appreciate your help with this! I am trying to keep everyone as safe as we can.
Also, please remember that we want to catch symptoms early for COVID - so please contact me if you think you are having symptoms and we can discuss the options on the protocol attached. I also encourage you each to have a plan in place if you get COVID symptoms. Planning ahead with supplements for prevention and treatment, as well as having prescriptions on hand, will be a nice option. If you would like further direction in making your plan, just let me know and we can set up a 15 minute call. As we know, early treatment is key.
I am starting to send out emails to those that are at their 1 year anniversary with Flourish. I also wanted to include a few of the things that will happen at 1 year. My goal is to see everyone at their 1-year mark and go over the following to continue towards health and flourishing:
One of the member benefits has been member gatherings where we can promote supporting each other on our health journeys and provide answers to shared questions. In the age of Covid, we have not been able to host one of these gatherings since March. Ron was really hoping we could host a "garden party" and serve healthy snacks from the garden, but that might have to wait until next year. In the meantime, I will be hosting a 30 minute virtual gathering using Zoom on 9/7/2020 at 7pm. I will prepare a few slides with some COVID updates and start the gathering off with a bit of education, then open it to the group to ask questions, share successes, and network with each other. This virtual gathering will not subtract any time from your time bank.
In addition, I will be hosting group clinic visits using Zoom for members experiencing similar health challenges such as CIRS, thyroid issues, bone issues, mental health concerns, gut issues and others that you may want included. If you have a topic not listed above that you would like to have a group visit for, just let me know. These group visits create an environment where members can support each other and I can provide relevant education and actions steps applicable to the whole group. These group clinic visits only subtract a fraction of the meeting time from your time bank, so they are great ways to improve health, connect with others, and still have direct time with me to help navigate your health journey and answer questions. I will send out dates and times for these once I schedule them.
Also coming will be videos to navigate the website and all the education already there, videos highlighting supplements, and more. So stay tuned!
Blessings as we enter this fall!
Stacey, Ron and family
I just wanted to send an update on a few things...
It's been a whole year! July marked the one year anniversary of starting Flourish! Thank you to all of you who have been with Flourish a year now! It has been quite a journey and we are so thankful for all of you who are takin charge of your own health and participating in building a community of health! We will be sending out individual emails to discuss where things are at with your plan, health goals for the next year, and customized membership plan options based on your usage this year and anticipated needs for next year. We will also be looking for any feedback on how to continue to grow and improve your membership experience!
Member Education I will be producing some future videos for the toxin series, bone health, as well as dyslipidemia and blood sugar. I am also looking to start some monthly Zoom meetings for those with specific conditions like CIRS, Hashimoto's, Gut Health issues and more. Please let me know if you are interested in a certain topic for both education and group Zoom meetings.
Masks With regard to the mask mandate, we are doing what we can to continue to make visits to Flourish enjoyable and productive. For those coming here for in-person meetings, we will try to meet outside as much as possible (weather permitting) where we can visit comfortably and social distance to allow for not needing masks (unless you prefer masks regardless). Once we move inside, we will ask that you bring and wear a mask while moving and also during any possible examination. While inside, sitting 6 feet apart, we can discuss the options of masking or not, depending on each situation. If you have a meeting scheduled and do not want to mask, we will plan to meet outside. If the weather does not permit that, we can either reschedule or change to a Zoom meeting.
Lab Date The next lab date is next Wednesday morning, August 12th. Let me know if you would like to get on the schedule.
COVID UPDATE: I have been trying to keep up to date with recommendations and new studies. As you are aware, this is a "novel", or "new" virus that has not been previously identified. Therefore, new data continues to be accumulated, which guides recommendations. I will be putting together a separate document summarizing the most up-to-date consensus regarding prevention and treatment by early next week Please note recommendations can change over time. Changes in prevention and treatment recommendations are not a sign of the scientific community contradicting itself; rather, it is a good sign that those focused on the science are open to looking at new data as it emerges and making changes based on the science.
Until I have something more comprehensive ready to share, I would just like to put one thought forward: PLEASE do not take everything presented in the news, on Facebook, or YouTube as 100% truth. For some reason, COVID has been politicized and both parties have now taken sides regarding various aspects of COVID. There are political agendas at work behind many statements and videos circulating on social media (on both sides). Often, there is some element of truth in even the most sensational viral videos; but somewhere between the extremes lies the truth. By following the data, listening to credentialed experts, reading actual unbiased clinical trials, and drawing from my own experience as a clinician, I am working hard to separate the wheat from the chaff and present information to my members that is not agenda-driven. Again, I will get that out in the next days.
I am also hoping to provide an educational tool/video about how to look objectively at various news articles, studies, etc. that become viral in the media. While COVID has brought the issue of bias regarding science to the forefront of the nation, the phenomenon is not new. We have all seen this in the past with various misleading headlines and studies. For example, does anyone remember the headline: "Diet soda prevents diabetes"? The article referenced a poorly designed and shoddily run study which makes the results unreliable....and the study was sponsored by Pepsi. I have seen the same issue with COVID. Hydroxychloroquine has now been turned into a political issue; and what should be a drug whose merits are based on studies and data has become extremely polarized. Many are familiar with the group that has named itself "Frontline Doctors" who are touting Hydroxychlroquine as a cure-all that every person in the country should now be taking. While this medication (in combination with other medications) may be helpful, it is not the silver bullet that will cure COVID. There are well designed and carefully performed studies that show mixed results. I am neither "for" or "against" this medication, and I do have some on hand as part of my "toolkit". But there are also potential issues with the medication, especially when combined with Zithromax. I will discuss this in the upcoming video I will make. My caution at this time is to look into the claims made by certain groups and to research if individuals or groups are coming together "organically" as a medical or scientific community of peers, or whether they have been assembled by a political group or special interest with major funding. Unfortunately, it is not hard for any organization, party, interest group, etc., of any political affiliation, to find a dozen or so doctors to support their agenda. Again, using the Frontline Doctors as an example, there is some truth in their message; but not necessarily the full truth. Again, my goal is to dig through the muck and find the actual studies that are valid by unbiased. My priority during these time is your health, NOT the advancement of either political party. 100% of my income comes from you, our Flourish Health community of members, not any special interests or drug company. That means the only special interest I am beholden to is yours, so I am working hard to bring you the best information during these difficult times so we can all Flourish!
I hope this update finds you all enjoying summer and doing well!
I have remained busy learning everything I can to continue to help you all! I have taken the following courses since May:
1. Environmental Health Symposium (19 hours)
2. Great Plains Lab testing, Mold, and more (16 hours)\
3. Dr. Kharrazian Hashimoto Course (12 hours)
4. Dr. Horowitz and Neil Nathan Lyme and Tick Diseases, Mold, Vagus nerve (24 hours)
5. CIRS training with Dr. Shoemaker and Dr. Heyman (80+ hours over a month)
I have now completed my Lyme course as well as my month-long intensive CIRS course. I have so much to share about these courses! I just recreated the entire CIRS education page - so please check that out. I would encourage those of you affected by CIRS to please watch all of the videos. They are all new and updated. There are new updates that will affect each of you! In addition, I broadened the information significantly to truly enable you to understand the process as well as why you feel the way you do. These videos serve as an essential tool for sharing new treatments, testing, and more so that I do not have to spend billable time with each of you one-on-one to cover the content included. If you are equipped with the information in these videos, it makes our clinic time together more valuable and productive.
I also wanted to update you with some testing that I have available at discount prices. I was able to order this testing at significantly discounted prices after one of my conferences. As always, the prices below are at my cost.
I have the following tests available if you are interested:
All the above are urine tests so there are no draw fees.
As you will see when reviewing the videos, there are changes to the Foundational and Step 1 plans as far as med and supplements options. If you can let me know which of the new supplements you want, I will place a large order soon.
astly, I just wanted to clarify the best way to get a hold of me:
My number is 320-491-1691
Ron's number is 320-424-0771
Please call Ron with questions regarding the website, billing, placing supplement orders (if you know what you need) and other logistics. Also, if you can't get a hold of me, you are always welcome to call Ron as a backup and he can at least give you an idea as to when I can get back to you. (for example, this morning I was unexpectedly unavailable due to my oldest daughter landing in the ER...she's home now and doing fine :)
Please reach out to me for any medical issues, request for a call or visit, or treatment issues. If it is not urgent, please email. My goal is to return emails within 24 hours. This is the easiest and quickest way to get a response. If it is semi-urgent, please feel free to text. If it is urgent, please call me. If I don't answer, please try Ron's phone. I tend to receive many non-urgent text messages and since text messaging is not part of my medical record follow-up workflow, there is a greater chance of a text message falling through the cracks. Text messages are not automatically linked to your medical record like emails are, so from a follow-up, record keeping, and continuity standpoint, it is much better to use email.
As long as calling and texting is reserved for urgent and semi-urgent matters I will be able to see messages and respond immediately as long as I am not with a patient or driving. I do put my phone on airplane mode between midnight and 7AM. If you need urgent help at this hour, it is likely something that should be addressed in an ER.
Please note that a lot of information about the membership, education, lab dates, etc. is communicated through email so please check your email to maximize the value of your membership! Also, starting with this email, Ron is adding content from these member update emails to the Member Forum page on the website, so you will be able to go to the website to find information that has been shared via email rather than digging through your inbox for old emails.
Just an update as we get ready for summer!
1. We ARE up and running - doing follow-ups, new patient appointments, and acute care! Please let us know if you need anything!!
2. We continue to add to the website - so check it out! I continue to add to the education as quickly as I can - so continue to check back. If you did not do the 30 day challenge - those videos are on the website as well as the 8 week Eating for Health Course. There is a lot of information in both of those!
3. The newest education is Hashimoto's. Please check this out if you have ever been told you have thyroid issues or ever wondered if you do. Many people will have thyroid symptoms and issues 7-8 years before their labs will reflect it. So I encourage everyone to watch the first one and see if it fits. We can then do a TSH and TPO antibody to see if this is affecting you.
If you have been diagnosed with Autoimmune thyroid, Hashimoto's, or low thyroid - please shoot me an email. I am trying to look through charts to make sure I don't miss anyone. But I would like to create a list specific to thyroid (much like I have a CIRS group). That way as I learn more - have new questionnaires, or other things to share - it goes to that group.
4. IVtoGO is now available. As I look at the best options to treat COVID, IV vitamin C and glutathione continue to rise to the top of effective treatments. However, I checked into IV Vitamin C and the local places that do it will not see actively ill patients. So I started checking into temporary options until I can get some IV capabilities in my clinic. IVtoGO seems like the best option. It is liposomal (so better absorption) and has both C and Glutathione. I have a handful of bottles on hand if you need them. If you want some on hand in case, let me know. Or to use them for general boosting of health. They are not cheap - but IV treatments are usually a couple hundred a dose. One bottle is 3 IV doses of Vitamin C and costs $150. (I was able to get a better price than on their website, where it sells for $200: https://www.ivtogo.com/)
5. Next lab draw: I have 2 possible dates for lab draws. There are many that need thyroid antibodies - as well as other testing. If you need lab drawn - let me know what labs and which dates work. I will try to pick the dates that work best.
6/1/2020 at 5:30pm
6/3/2020 at 10 am
6. Supplements are now just inside the clinic door to the right. We moved them insitde due to temperature and humidity on the porch. We have a table set up as you walk in the main door into the waiting room area.
I will be updating a message with some of my new supplements.
I do have Castor oil packs - which are a great way to detox. These are $23.
7. Text vs. email. If you have a medical question, supplement order, etc., email is the best form of communication. I am trying to look at emails a few times a day and have a goal of less than a 24 hour turn around time on these. Sometimes I receive a text, and if it's not urgent and I am in the middle of something, I plan to get back to it later. However, text messages are not in an easy to reply format like email and I don't always recheck my texts again later in the day so non-urgent text message can easily get lost in the shuffle. If you have an urgent need please text or call and if I don't respond it is likely that I am in with a patient and you can also text Ron at 320-424-0771 and he can let you know where I am at and how quickly you can expect me to respond. But for questions that aren't urgent please email email@example.com.
8. Toxins: I will be adding another toxin video soon. However, working with various patients has reminded me of a significant toxin that has not been discussed or addressed. That is beds and pillows. We spend a significant amount of time each day with our faces and bodies touching these items. Foams can be very toxic and many beds and pillows have flame retardants, and many other toxic chemicals. If you are waking up with headaches, get stuffy when you lay down, or are dealing with toxicity issues - definitely look into organic, non-toxic options.
Here is an article about some of the best mattresses:
We personally invested in Avocado beds and they are having a $200 off sale now.
We recently invested in Silverite Pillows also. If you don't need a very stuffed pillow - you can actually make 1 pillow into 2-3 - which makes it much more affordable. I have noticed a significant difference since getting one for myself.
(and no, we don't make any commission on these items I recommend- they are simply great products that we use :)
Blessings to you all!
